Gazale Abdulai questions GFA sanction after extended suspension

Assistant coach of Hearts of Oak, Gazale Abdulai, has criticized a disciplinary decision handed down by the Ghana Football Association.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee imposed an additional three-match ban and a GHS 5,000 fine after finding him guilty of misconduct during a league fixture against Medeama SC.

The new punishment comes on top of an earlier four-match suspension.

Reacting to the ruling, Abdulai described the process as unjust.

“They said I behaved unsportingly and was given four matches, but later they added three more matches. I’m not a lawyer, but I know what they did was wrong, he told Ghanasportspage.com.

“You can’t ban me for seven matches after one offence,” he added.

He also denied allegations that he assaulted a ball retriever during the match.

“All I’m saying is that if you use the phrase ‘unsporting behaviour,’ it means I didn’t conduct myself properly, but another person should still be safe.

“I didn’t hit the boy, but they coached him to speak against me.”
