Ghana Football Association, Executive Council Member Frederick Acheampong has poured cold water on media reports linking Otto Addo to the Black Stars vacant coaching job.
According to reports in the media fraternity in Ghana, the Borrusia Dortmund scout is in a pole position of landing the role.
The male senior national team has been without a gaffer after Coach Chris Hughton was sacked after poor showing at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The four times African Champions failed to make it out of the group stages after picking up two points from nine.
“The appointment of the coach does not even stop with the search committee. This is from our level (The Executive Committee). The decision we made was that the search committee should draw up a shortlist of three coaches, so I was surprise to hear that Otto Addo is leading the race as if the search committee are in charge to appoint us a coach, ”Acheampong said on Kessben FM
“The search committee are expected to bring three coaches to the Executive Council for further discussions and checks before one person will be chosen amongst the three.”
The search for the new gaffer for the Black Stars coaching job is still on with over 600 applications received by the Ghana Football Association.
