Francis Abu sees red in Cercle Brugge’s defeat against Jagiellonia

Ghanaian midfielder Francis Abu was sent off in Cercle Brugge’s 3-0 away defeat to Jagiellonia in the UEFA Conference League Round of 16.

Abu received his first yellow card in the 24th minute after a reckless tackle.

Referee Sidiropoulos then showed him a red card following a second booking.

Afimico Pululu broke the deadlock in the 69th minute from the penalty spot, giving the hosts the lead after a goalless first half.

Taras Romanczuk doubled Jagiellonia’s advantage in the 75th minute before Pululu struck again three minutes later to seal the victory at the Chorten Arena.

Meanwhile, midfielder Lawrence Agyekum featured for Cercle Brugge, lasting 76 minutes in Thursday night’s match.
