Former Asante Kotoko defender Gabriel Opoku Ware has urged Hearts of Oak marksman Kelvin Osei Asibey to eschew complacency after impressive start to life at the club.
The former Eleven Wonders marksman has established himself as key member of the Hearts of Oak team. The defender has become an instant hit for the Ghanaian giants despite the club’s poor start to the season.
Osei Asibey dominated the headlines at the weekend when Hearts of Oak succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Asante Kotoko in the week 14 of the Ghana Premier League.
However, Opoku Ware, who impressed with the performance of the highly-rated defender has advised him not to be complacent.
“He exhibited excellent performance against Kotoko. I played with him in a training game and got to know his potentials. I predicted he would become a top player if he continues with his performance”
“He is confident on the ball but I will advise him not to be complacent because he is an upcoming player. Being a defender, he needs to train hard and concentrate” he told Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com.
The defender aims to sustain his excellent form throughout the season and contribute to Hearts of Oak’s success in the Ghana Premier League.
