Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi was inconsolable on his visit to Nsawan Prison, where he launched the Prisons Project.
The initiative by Nyantakyi, in collaboration with the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, which is made of ex Ghana Footballers, is a project aimed at bridging the gap between prisoners, ex convicts and free citizens.
According to Nyantakyi, it is disheartening to see people stigmatised because of their past, hence the need for togetherness.
Nyantakyi also revealed that he will dedicate the rest of his life to fight for Prisoners.
Among many other reasons, the former Ghana Football Association president opened up on why he started the project, stating that WA All Stars, his former club, had their chairman arrested after a mishap over a land dispute, which resulted in the killing of two innocent civilians.
In a video rife on the internet, Nyantakyi could not hold himself back as he spoke about the issue.
Ex Black Stars players were in attendance at the launch, which took place on Tuesday and are expected to play massive roles moving forward.
