Fiorentina and Torino will meet in Serie A this weekend with both sides level on points with one another in the middle of the Italian top flight as the Florence side aim to jump further into the top half of the table by beating the Turin side.
Ahead of the game, it is Torino who sit ahead of Fiorentina in the table, despite failing to win a game in Serie A since action resumed.
The only positive for the Turin outfit since the World Cup has been their stunning 1-0 win at the San Siro away to AC Milan, as Michel Ndary Adopo scored in the 114th minute of that game to secure passage into the last eight of the competition.
Koffi Djidji was also sent off that day, however, but his suspension is now over.
Back in Serie A, Ivan Jurić’s men restarted their campaign with a terrible 1-1 draw with relegation fighters Hellas Verona, before a 1-1 draw with Salernitana increased fears of them dropping into the bottom half of the table.
Spezia then beat them 1-0 in Turin to throw them deeper into trouble and into ninth where they can now drop to as low as 12th with a loss here and other results going against them.
Juric’s side are ahead of Fiorentina in 10th by only goals difference, with them still netting just 18 goals compared to Fiorentina’s 21. Torino have, however, let in just 20 goals compared to Fiorentina’s 24, which is the same amount as the champions up in second.
As for Fiorentina, they lost 2-0 to Roma last time out thanks to a Paulo Dybala masterclass. Dodo was also sent off that day, and he will now miss this game, but on the bright side the Florence outfit have won their other two games since the World Cup.
They edged past Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia just one week on from beating Sassuolo in Serie A to move into 10th and above Bologna.
It’s always tough to separate two sides who are right by one another in the table. Barely anything keeps them adrift of one another in Serie A right now with only goals difference the issue for Fiorentina right now.
At the same time, while the Florence side have scored more, they have let in more too and Forebet now predicts a draw in this one and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
