Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is poised to join Ipswich Town in a deal worth about £20m, as the Suffolk club prepares for its first Premier League campaign in 22 years.
The 22-year-old winger, currently on the books of Leicester City, is due to undergo a medical later this week, with the transfer understood to hinge on the outcome of those tests.
Ipswich, who have been rebuilding steadily to climb back to the top flight, see Issahaku as a key addition to bolster their attack ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Medicals to decide £20m switch
English sports broadcaster Ben Jacobs has reported that Leicester and Ipswich have reached an agreement on a fee “in the region of £20 million”, with only the player’s medical examinations left to be completed.
Should the tests be passed as expected, Issahaku will become one of Ipswich’s marquee signings as they seek to ensure survival – and possibly more – on their Premier League return.
The deal marks a rapid rise in reputation for the winger, who shone individually last season despite Leicester’s struggles.
