Leicester City come into the match having lost 1-0 at Roma in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night. The defeat means The Foxes have been eliminated from the competition at the semi-final stage and it was a hugely disappointing result after a long European campaign.
In terms of the Premier League, Leicester City have been struggling to win games of late and they have failed to win any of their 4 most recent league games. There have been draws against Everton away and Aston Villa at home plus defeats to Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur away.
However, home form in the Premier League shows The Foxes have been tough to beat and they are undefeated in their last 6 league matches at the King Power Stadium.
There have been wins over Leeds United, Crystal Palace, and Brentford. Trends show Leicester City have not been beaten in their last 10 straight home clashes in all competitions and in their last 23 home games in all competitions, Leicester City have been undefeated on 20 occasions.
Everton make the trip to the King Power Stadium on the back of an important 1-0 win over Chelsea last weekend. The only goal of the game was scored just after half time and Everton managed to shut Chelsea out for the remainder of the match to secure maximum points.
It was the first victory in 3 games for Everton having previously drawn 1-1 at home with Leicester City and lost 2-0 at Liverpool.
Everton have been struggling away from home and they have recorded 8 straight defeats on the road in the Premier League. In fact, in their last 19 away games in all competitions, Everton have a poor record of just 1 win.
Trends show there have been under 2.5 goals scored in Everton’s last 4 matches in all competitions. The Toffees have failed to find the back of the net in 4 of their last 6 away league fixtures.
Team news and Leicester City continue without injured midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who will miss the remainder of the season. Every other player should be available for the hosts.
Everton travel without Ben Godfrey, Donny van de Beek, Andre Gomes, Nathan Patterson, and Andros Townsend who are all on the treatment table. There are also doubts over the fitness of Richarlison but the Brazilian should start.
Everton need to pick up points to move out of the drop zone but their recent away record has been dreadful. Leicester City may not be at full strength following their Europa League game but they should still have enough to beat Everton and keep a clean sheet.
