Gor Mahia secured a thrilling 2-1 home win against Mathare United in the Kenyan Premier League, thanks to a late penalty goal from former Asante Kotoko player Enoch Morrison.

The match, played at the Nyayo National Stadium, saw Gor Mahia dominate possession but struggle to break through Mathare’s defense until Ebenezer Assifuah scored the opener in the 67th minute.

Mathare United equalized through Dennis Okoth’s 83rd-minute strike, but Morrison’s penalty in stoppage time sealed the win for Gor Mahia, extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points.

Morrison’s goal was his eighth of the season and showcased his clutch gene, making him a key player for Gor Mahia’s title push.
