England, Ghana’s Group L opponents at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, have confirmed two international friendlies in June as part of their final preparations for the tournament.

The Three Lions will face New Zealand on June 6 before taking on Costa Rica four days later, just one day before the World Cup officially kicks off.

Prior to those matches, England are also scheduled to play Uruguay on March 27 and Japan on March 31, giving manager Thomas Tuchel further opportunities to fine-tune his squad ahead of the global showpiece.

Drawn alongside Ghana, Croatia, and Panama, England are chasing their first major trophy since their 1966 World Cup triumph and are widely tipped as favourites to top Group L.

Meanwhile, Ghana will also intensify their build-up with friendly matches against Austria on March 27 and Germany on March 30 as head coach Otto Addo assesses his squad options.

The Black Stars will open their World Cup campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, before facing England on June 23 and Croatia on June 27. Addo has already acknowledged the scale of the challenge, identifying England as the strongest side in the group.

Ghana will be aiming to improve on their recent World Cup history after exiting at the group stage in their last two appearances.
