Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu implores unattached Black Stars players to accept offers to play in GPL

New Accra Great Olympics signing, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has urged Black Stars players who are without a club at the moment to return to the Ghana Premier League.

The former Udinese Calcio midfielder has signed a one-year deal with the Wonder Club ahead of the new Ghana football season.

Badu has followed the likes of Asamoah Gyan who played Legon Cities two seasons ago while Sulley Muntari ended his stay with Hearts of Oak at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, Samuel Inkoom is expected to play a huge role for Hearts of Oak in the upcoming season.

According to Badu, signing for some of these clubs will ensure the players are in good shape as well as help grow the Ghanaian league.

I think [to sign for GPL clubs] is a good option. If you think you haven’t stopped playing football and maybe you’re looking for some offers from outside and it’s not coming, you can’t just stay home and be rusty, or be home and train alone. It won’t help you, ” he told Joy Sports.

“Join a [PL] club – six months loan, there’s an option in January for the transfer window. Just keep yourself busy, help the players here to grow as well, and just move on with your life because our life is football.

“I am just appealing to them [to come]. Maybe some of my colleagues fear insults but you should be ready for everything. Come let’s enjoy ourselves and help the guys grow and make the league exciting.”

Great Olympics will open their 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season against Bechem United.
