Defender explains why he opted to sign for Hearts despite Kotoko last-minute attempt —

New Hearts of Oak defender Konadu Yiadom has explained why he opted to sign for the Phobians despite a last-gasp attempt from rivals Asante Kotoko.

Yiadom, a key component of the triumphant Black Galaxies side, joined the Phobians on transfer deadline day after agreeing a three year deal with Samuel Boadu’s side.

His local agent, Joe Abu Salam, revealed that Kotoko approached him with a better offer for the lanky center-back but he chose to honour his words to Hearts of Oak.

According to several media reports, he had already signed a pre-contract agreement with the club as the end date of his contract with WAFA drew closer.

The Phobians unveiled the defender on Tuesday night via their social media handles and in his maiden address to the club’s fans he intimated why he chose to sign for Hearts despite a late interest from Kotoko.

“This is where the aim will be most fulfilled. It’s a dream come true. I chose the best team in our league because I have to achieve my career ambitions,” he is quoted in a tweet by Hearts of Oak.
