English-born Ghanaian striker Dan Agyei is set to leave Leyton Orient this summer after rejecting a new contract offer from the League One side.
The 27-year-old’s current deal expires at the end of June, bringing his two-year stint at Brisbane Road to an end.
Agyei, who joined Orient in 2023, was reportedly offered multiple improved deals, but negotiations failed to yield an agreement that suited both parties.
The club’s Director of Football, Martin Ling, confirmed that while the forward was a player they were keen to keep, their wage structure limited how far they could go.
“Dan is someone we wanted to keep, and that was reflected in the offers we have made him over the last few months,” Ling said. “Sadly, we weren’t able to come to an agreement that suited him and that fitted within our financial framework, so we’ve had to part ways.”
Agyei leaves the club after making 72 appearances and scoring 18 goals.
