Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson, commended the pivotal role played by Ghanaian duo Jeffrey Schlupp and Jordan Ayew in their victory against Burnley in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Ayew’s involvement was instrumental in Schlupp’s first goal of the season, and Hodgson highlighted the sequence of events leading to the goal.
Hodgson praised Ayew for his well-timed ball recovery from a Burnley player and his precise delivery, setting up Schlupp for the goal.
“Jordan (Ayew) chose his time perfectly, won the ball, his cross was good, and Jeffrey Schlupp made up an enormous amount of ground to slide the ball into the goal. That was a very, very pleasing goal…We’ve got to be very happy.”
The Eagles secured the win with a late goal from Tyrick Mitchell, earning them three crucial points.
Crystal Palace is gearing up to host Everton in their Round 12 fixture at Selhurst Park on Saturday, November 11, with the aim of maintaining their positive momentum.
