Cremonese and Sampdoria will meet in a vital game down at the bottom of Serie A this season with the two sides sitting in the relegation zone after 10 games in Serie A as both teams are yet to win a single game in the league so far.

Despite the horrific form of either team in Serie A, they did both advance in the Coppa Italia second round games during the week. Cremonese made easy work of Modena in their game, as they won 4-2 on home soil.

Sampdoria, however, once again struggled to win the game and had to go all the way to penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Even then, they only just edged the penalty shootout in a spectacular 9-8 scoreline.

Now, with both in the relegation zone, it’s Cremonese who come into this one in slightly better form. The club have managed to rack up four draws and six losses compared to the three draws and seven defeats of the Genoa outfit, meaning they are just one point above Sampdoria in Serie A.

Cremonese do have the worst defensive record in Italy’s top flight, however, having now let in a worrying 21 goals already in the league.

This comes just two weeks after losing 4-1 to Napoli, while they were also smashed by Lazio 4-0 just prior to the international break – both games happened on home soil too.

Last time out, however, the newly-promoted side did manage to get a draw against Spezia as they led the game, fell behind, and came back to equalise through Charles Pickel.

The other draws this season have seen them take a point off Sassuolo and Lecce in Serie A, but with them taking a point off Atalanta too, they remain one of only three teams able to do so after 10 games, with the Bergamo side in second and unbeaten so far this season.

Sampdoria, however, come into this game having scored a dreadful five goals so far in the league. Only Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League have managed the same amount across Europe’s five divisions, with Cadiz netting only four in La Liga too.

Sampdoria lost only narrowly to Roma last time out in a 1-0 loss, and this came after registering a 1-1 draw with Bologna too. However, in losing 3-0 to Monza at the start of the month, no side across Europe’s top five leagues is in worse form.

Forebet predicts a draw and under 2.5 goals.
