Cremonese are putting up a fight in the Serie A relegation race. La Cremo are 20th in the Serie A standings ahead of matchday No 30. Ten points separate Cremonese from safety. If La Cremo want to rescue their season, they must win on Friday at home versus Empoli.
Empoli are safe from relegation with 32 points. The Azzurri are 10 points ahead of 18th-place Hellas Verona. It would take a complete collapse and a surge from Verona for Empoli to be relegated.

The Azzurri won the reverse fixture at home against Cremonese 2-0. Nicolo Cambiaghi opened the scoring on 46 minutes and Fabiano Parisi added a second with two minutes left on the clock.
Empoli are not in good form going into the match on Friday. They picked up just four points from the last 18 points on offer. Empoli were outscored 7-3 across those six games. Coach Paolo Zanetti’s team is unbeaten in its last two matches in Serie A.
Zanetti and company are fortunate that the bottom three teams in the Serie A standings are as bad as they are. Otherwise Empoli would be in far more relegation danger than they are right now.
Cremonese may be second from the bottom of the table, but they have found some form recently. La Cremo took seven points from the last 18 points available. They were still outscored 12-9 in the last six matches.
La Cremo are coming off a wild 3-2 win at Sampdoria last weekend. Trailing 2-1 in the 85th minute, Cremonese scored twice to win the match. Leonardo Sernicola scored a wonder goal in the dying seconds to give Cremonese all three points.

Empoli are winless in five straight matches away from home. The Azzurri have an away record of 2W-7D-6L. Empoli have the second-most draws in Serie A this season with 11. Cremonese have the third-most draws in Serie A with 10.
Cremonese coach Davide Ballardini will be without defender Matteo Biachetti due to a suspension. Meanwhile, Empoli’s Daniel Akpa and Guglielmo Vacario are bout doubts to make the team.
With both teams drawing double-digit matches this season in Serie A, Cremonese and Empoli should play out a 1-1 stalemate on Friday. It could be an uneventful match, as the teams share the points.
