Chelsea’s poor run of form post-2022 FIFA World Cup is over, and the Blues are now on a three-match unbeaten streak. On Saturday, the Blues will welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge, as they attempt to continue their good form.

Graham Potter’s team is 10th in the standings, four points off sixth-place Liverpool. The Blues can still hunt down the Reds and a European qualification place. Eleven points separate Chelsea and fourth-place Tottenham with just 11 games left to play.

Aston Villa are also fighting for the final European qualification place. The Villains are 11th in the standings and are also four points behind Liverpool.

Unai Emery’s team is in fine form with four straight games ending without defeat. Three of those four fixtures were wins for Aston Villa.

Aston Villa took 10 points from the last 18 points on offer in the Premier League. They outscored their last six opponents 10-8. Chelsea, on the other hand, took eight points from their last six matches. The Blues struggled to score goals, bagging just seven.

Chelsea won the reverse fixture against Aston Villa earlier this season, 2-0. Mason Mount scored on either side of halftime to lead the Blues to the win at Villa Park.

Chelsea are unbeaten in 10 of 13 home matches this season. Aston Villa have an away record of four wins, three draws, and six defeats. However, Villa went unbeaten in five of their last six road games.

Emery could be without full-back Matty Cash due to a calf injury. Midfielder Philippe Coutinho is a doubt following a thigh strain. Leander Dendoncker and Boubacar Kamara are both major doubts due to injuries. Back-up goalkeeper Jed Steer has been ruled out.

Potter could be without up to 10 players for the match. Armando Broja and Thiago Silva are already ruled out of action. Kai Havertz is recovering from an illness and could be unfit to start. Cesar Azpilicueta is a doubt following a face/head injury.

Mount has a groin problem as he continues to be linked with a transfer away from Stamford Bridge. Edouard Mendy, Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Wesley Fofana, and Reece James are all major doubts to make the Chelsea squad.

Chelsea may be suffering from player injuries, but Potter has a deep squad to call upon. Chelsea should continue their unbeaten Premier League run against Aston Villa at home. However, the Villains could leave with a point. Chelsea and Villa should end 1-1 with neither side able to win the match.
