Chelsea demand close to £100m for Pedro Neto amid Al-Hilal and Premier League interest

Chelsea are now seeking almost £100m for Pedro Neto after Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur showed interest in the Portugal winger during the current summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old joined Chelsea from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £54m in 2024 and has since made more than 100 appearances for the club. However, despite his regular involvement, Neto may not have produced the level of performance expected after such a significant transfer fee.

He scored close to 10 goals last season, although those goals came across 52 appearances.

Chelsea have become increasingly willing to consider offers for Neto after strengthening their attacking options this summer. The club have added Morgan Rogers, Geovany Quenda and Emanuel Emegha to their squad, increasing competition for places in the forward areas.

Manchester City have been strongly linked with a move for Neto. Their interest could lead to a reunion with Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who coached the winger during his time in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are also understood to be monitoring the Portugal international. Neto had previously been linked with the Gunners when he was playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Arsenal’s interest has resurfaced after their attempt to sign Brazil forward Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid failed.

Tottenham Hotspur have gone further by making an offer for Neto, as new manager Roberto De Zerbi looks to continue the club’s impressive spending since taking charge.

Chelsea had previously been thought to value Neto at about £70m. However, the Daily Mail reports that the club now want a fee of close to £100m before agreeing to his departure.

The increase in Chelsea’s asking price follows strong links between Neto and Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal. Reports have even claimed that the player has already agreed personal terms over a potential move to the Saudi Arabian side.

Neto’s future has therefore become one of the main issues surrounding Chelsea’s attacking group this summer. The club’s decision to recruit Rogers, Quenda and Emegha has made a sale more plausible, while interest from three Premier League clubs and Al-Hilal has strengthened Chelsea’s negotiating position.

Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all been connected with the winger for different reasons. City’s interest is linked to Maresca’s previous work with Neto, Arsenal have renewed a long-standing association with the player, and Tottenham Hotspur have made a formal move as they continue to build under De Zerbi.

Chelsea’s new valuation represents a substantial increase on the figure previously associated with Neto. The club paid £54m to sign him from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2024, but now believe a fee approaching £100m would be required to release him.
