Mirandés and Albacete Balompi are set to clash in Segunda Division action this weekend with 10 places separating the two in the league table as the home side continues to fight for life in the second tier of Spanish football.

It’s been one of the worst seasons on record for Mirandes this campaign. As of now, they club have scored the fourth fewest goals in the league with just 15 and with only three losses on the board too, no side have won fewer.

In fact, despite a four-point gap on Ibiza in last place of the Segunda Division, they sit with the same amount of wins as the 22nd-placed side.

Mirandes do have a slightly better defensive record than those below them in the league table, but with 21 goals let in from 17 games, there is still a lot to improve on.

On the other hand, their form has slightly improved in recent weeks, despite losing to Oviedo last time out. Mirandes managed to beat Cartagena and Tenerife in the league throughout November, while also drawing with Ibiza and beating Vimenor in the Copa del Rey.

It does now mean the club have lost only one of their seven games in all competitions and went on a six-game unbeaten run in the Segunda Division. Mirandes also registered draws with Huesca and Lugo in this time.

As for Albacete, they have managed to move swiftly on from their terrible 4-0 loss to Granada two weeks ago. Both Flavien Boyomo and Alvaro Perez were sent off in that game where Albacaete had just one shot on target and two efforts in total – the two players remain suspended for this game.

The club managed to defeat Racing in the last outing, which now put them level on points with Granada in eighth and within touching distance of the top four.

On the other hand, with only six wins on the board and seven draws, they have struggled for consistency all season long and have scored just 19 goals this season.

Given the form of the two, it is tough to see how this one gets a winner. Both sides have had more than enough draws so far this campaign, but Mirandes are at home and are also in desperate need of putting some solid form together.

With this in mind, Forebet predicts a draw and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
