Ghanaian midfielder Cameron Antwi has completed a move to English League Two side Gillingham FC in the ongoing winter transfer window.
The 24-year-old joins the Gills from fellow fourth-tier campaigners Newport County on a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
Antwi is expected to add energy, control, and depth to Gillingham’s midfield as the club reshapes its squad for the remainder of the season.
He arrives with solid Football League experience despite his young age, having featured regularly in recent campaigns.
Gillingham confirmed the transfer while outlining the player’s career journey in an official club statement.
”Antwi, a creative midfielder, began his career in the youth ranks at Fulham before signing for Blackpool in 2019. He signed pro terms a year later and made his professional debut in November 2020 in an EFL Trophy tie at home to Leeds United.
The club noted that the transfer is still subject to EFL ratification and international clearance.
Gillingham also announced that an interview with the midfielder will be released in due course.
