Head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Nana Adarkwa,says that his team has accomplished their initial objective in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League after advancing to the last four.
The Ghanaian champions secured a spot in the semi-finals by defeating Equatorial Guinea’s Huracanes 3-1 in the final Group B game on Sunday.
In a stellar performance, Tracey Twum netted twice, complemented by a late strike from Gnabekan Yanyimaya, propelling the Ghanaian champions to a 3-1 victory and ensuring their top finish in Group B.
“We achieved our first goal, which was to be in the semi-finals. Whatever happens, we will finish the competition with our heads held high,” Adarkwa stated to the media after the game.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies will face SC Casablanca, the second-placed team in Group A, on Wednesday night in their quest for a spot in the final of the competition.
