Former Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Akonnor is eyeing a return to the club.
The former Black Stars coach have been without a club since parting ways with the reigning Ghanaian champions in 2019.
He was sacked after nine months in charge at the Kumasi-based outfit despite winning the GFA Normalisation Committee Special Cup tier 1 – a trophy introduced back then which ensured their participation in the CAF Champions League albeit they were eliminated in the prelims.
“For me returning to Kotoko will be on a different level. Kotoko was full of joy and though I went through a lot of pressure but it was a positive one,” he told Akoma FM.
The 48-year-old guided Kotoko to the group phase of the Confederations cup which was the last time any club has gotten to that stage.
The Ghana Premier League is scheduled to commence on September 9.
