Former Bibiani Gold Stars head coach, Michael Osei, has been confirmed dead in London on Friday afternoon.

According to reports from Kickoffghana.com, the 53-year-old Ghanaian coach suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital in London.

Unfortunately, despite receiving medical attention, he could not be revived.

His funeral rites and date of burial is yet to be decided.

Michael, who is a former footballer, had a notable career playing for Okwahu United and Asante Kotoko SC before moving to Germany, where he featured for Mainz 05 and Frankfurt.

He transitioned into coaching in 2008, starting as an assistant manager at Frankfurt until 2011. He then returned to Ghana, where he served as an assistant coach at New Edubiase United.

Osei’s coaching journey also saw him serve as an assistant and later head coach at Asante Kotoko.

He went on to manage Liberty Professionals, Star Madrid, and Bibiani Gold Stars, where he coached from 2022 to 2024.

The Ghanaian football community mourns the loss of a seasoned coach whose contributions to the sport spanned both local and international levels.
