Bournemouth vs Newcastle United Preview 11/02/2023

Bournemouth vs Newcastle United – 11/02/2023

Nothing but a Newcastle Win Expected Against Bournemouth

2118

Newcastle United will be looking to jump into third this weekend when they meet with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium with the Magpies narrowly behind Manchester United in third but play a day earlier than the Red Devils.

United will clash with Leeds United once more this Sunday and just five days on from their 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Eddie Howe’s men also now have a game in hand to play over United once this week has finished, but if United does lose to Leeds and the Magpies win here, it would mean Howe’s side move into third because of their excellent goals difference record.

Ahead of this one, the club have still lost just one game all campaign long and won 10 times and drawn the other 10. In fact, with 12 goals let in so far, no side in English football has a better defensive record.

Newcastle did drop points of their own last time out, as they drew 1-1 with strugglers West Ham United at St. James’ Park.

This does still come after edging past Southampton in a 1-0 win and a 2-1 victory in the EFL Cup, but with Bruno Guimaraes getting sent off in the second leg, he is still on a three-game ban and will return just before the League Cup final.

Newcastle do have quite a hectic schedule because of the EFL Cup final, and they will meet with United in two weeks at Wembley Stadium as they bid for their first trophy since 1955.

As for Bournemouth, they lost again over the past weekend as they headed to the AMEX and lost 1-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion.

This extends Gary O’Neil’s current winless run to eight games with them failing to win a fixture since the World Cup break ended.

Prior to this, they beat Everton twice in a row, but the Cherries have gone on to score just one league goal and let in nine and lose five and drawn the other game with Nottingham Forest. They even managed to lose 4-2 to the Championship side Burnley in the FA Cup.

This terrible run of form has thrown Bournemouth into 19th and above Southampton by just two points and behind West Ham and Leeds in the safe spots by two points as well.

Forebet predicts a win for Newcastle and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
