Ghana’s Under-15 team got off to a winning start in the CAF African Schools Football Championship, defeating Uganda 2-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
The match was a thrilling encounter, with both teams showcasing their skills.
However, the host team emerged victorious, thanks to John Andor’s impressive performance.
Andor opened the scoring just three minutes into the game, finishing a solo run at the near post.
Ghana maintained control of the game, holding their nerves and going into the break with a one-goal lead.
The team’s dominance continued after the restart, with Emmanuel Drah making a brilliant run down the right flank and unleashing a shot at goal.
Although the Ugandan goalkeeper tipped the strike onto the post, Andor was quick to capitalize on the rebound, scoring his second goal of the game and securing a 2-0 victory for Ghana.
Andor’s brace made him the first player to score two goals in the competition.
Uganda posed little threat throughout the game, allowing Ghana to start their campaign on a winning note.
Ghana’s next challenge will be against South Africa on Thursday, April 25, at 11 pm. The team will look to build on their momentum and secure another win in the competition.
