Bochum coach Heiko Butscher reveals Christopher Antwi-Adjei’s absence due to illness

Bochum coach Heiko Butscher disclosed at the press conference following the 1-1 draw with FC Heidenheim that Christopher Antwi-Adjei was unexpectedly absent due to illness.

Butscher hinted that Antwi-Adjei might have been in the starting line-up, emphasizing his versatility and impact on the game.

“Jimmy is always an option, he can do a lot and always provide an impetus, which is why he was completely included in our considerations,” he said.

With substitute Matúš Bero failing to impress once again, Antwi-Adjei’s potential return for the upcoming away fixture against VfL Wolfsburg on April 20 seems likely.

Antwi-Adjei has notably contributed with 22 appearances, one goal, and two assists in the Bundesliga this season, making his absence felt in Bochum’s lineup.

As Bochum sits at the 15th spot on the league table with 27 points from 29 games, Butscher and the team are hopeful for Antwi-Adjei’s swift recovery to bolster their chances in the remaining fixtures.
