Members of Ghana’s Black Stars Management Committee were paid $50,000 each during the country’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Medeama Sporting Club president Moses Armah Parker.
Parker, who was part of the committee, said the payment amounted to half of the appearance fee received by each Black Stars player. He made the disclosure in an interview with Medeama FM.
“Members of the Black Stars Management Committee received only half of the players’ appearance fee, meaning each of us received $50,000. There was no per diem or winning bonus for the committee,” Parker said.
The figure relates specifically to the committee members’ appearance payment. Parker said no additional daily allowance, known as a per diem, was provided to the management team, and that committee members were not eligible for a winning bonus.
The committee was appointed by the Ghana Football Association to oversee the administrative and logistical responsibilities surrounding the senior national team during the tournament.
Randy Abbey served as chairman, while former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah was appointed vice-chairman. Parker and Samuel Aboabire were given duties covering operational matters and matchday activities.
Their responsibilities also included involvement in Ghana’s preparations for the competition before the squad travelled to the tournament. The management team held engagements with stakeholders as part of the build-up to the World Cup.
Parker’s comments provide details of the financial arrangements for the officials who formed part of Ghana’s management structure at the tournament, while distinguishing their payments from those made to the players.
Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup ended in the Round of 32. The Black Stars were beaten 1-0 by Colombia in Kansas City, bringing their involvement in the competition to a close.
The defeat was narrow, but it meant Ghana did not progress beyond the first knockout stage. The Black Stars’ management committee therefore completed its tournament duties after overseeing the team’s administrative, logistical and matchday operations through the group and knockout phases.
