Ghana’s Black Satellites have secured a spot in the finals of the WAFU B U-20 Championship after a 2-1 comeback win over Ivory Coast in the semi-finals on Sunday.
Loukou Jaures opened the scoring for Ivory Coast just 18 minutes into the game, but Ghana equalized through an own goal from their opponents.
In the 60th minute, the Black Satellites were awarded a penalty, which Jerry Afriyie converted to secure the win.
With this victory, Ghana has also qualified for the next Africa U-20 Cup of Nations after missing out on the last edition held in Egypt.
Ghana will face the winner of the second semi-final between Nigeria and Niger at the Stade du Kague.
