Black Queens head coach Kim Bjorkegren says improving his team’s finishing is high on the agenda ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Swedish tactician revealed that their recent nine-day training camp at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram focused heavily on goal-scoring, as he aims to make the team more clinical in the final third.
While pleased with the overall progress of the squad, Bjorkegren admitted the attack still needs work, especially with tough group-stage clashes looming.
Ghana is placed in Group C, where they’ll face defending champions South Africa, as well as Mali and Tanzania, between July 5 and July 26.
“That’s maybe the most important part to create more chances and score more goals, and that’s necessary, of course, to win games,” he said.
“So that’s the final part we will work on in the next camp.”
