Black Princesses attacker Iddrisu Mariam joins Uzbekistan’s FC Sogdiana from Savelugu Yoo Ladies FC

FC Sogdiana of Uzbekistan’s Women’s Premier League has announced the signing of Ghanaian striker Iddrisu Mariam from Northern Region Women’s Division One League side, Savelugu Yoo Ladies FC, Tamale.

Mariam, known for her impressive goal-scoring abilities, will be wearing the number 9 jersey for her new team. The Uzbekistan club has high expectations from the Ghanaian talent, anticipating that she will lead their attack line.

Iddrisu Mariam’s move to FC Sogdiana marks a significant step in her career, transitioning from the Ghanaian domestic league to an international stage.

The talented Ghanaian striker was a key player for the Black Princesses, Ghana’s national women’s under-20 football team. Her performance in the Northern Region Women’s Division One League caught the attention of FC Sogdiana, leading to her transfer.

FC Sogdiana Jizzakh participated in the 2022 AFC Women’s Club Championship – Pilot Tournament which was played in Thailand and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan’s Sogdiana Jizzakh won the West Zone title.
