Ghana Premier League outfit Berekum Chelsea is on the brink of securing the services of former Great Olympics coach Annor Walker as their new head coach.
The club is in search of a replacement for Christopher Ennin, who is reportedly poised to join Hearts of Oak as an assistant coach. Berekum Chelsea, based in the Berekum municipality, has identified Walker, the former Black Satellites and Samartex coach, as the ideal candidate to lead the team in the second half of the season.
Walker, currently unattached after parting ways with Great Olympics following a stint marked by mixed results, confirmed the ongoing talks. In a statement to Footballghana.com, Walker stated, “It’s true. I have had talks with Berekum Chelsea and a move to the club is imminent. An agreement has been reached between us, and I’m just waiting for confirmation from them.”
As Berekum Chelsea positions themselves for the latter stages of the league campaign, currently sitting in sixth place with 27 points after 18 matches, the potential addition of Annor Walker adds an experienced touch to their coaching staff.
