Bank Egypt to hold their own against Ceramica

Monday evening brings us action from the Egyptian Premier League and features this upcoming clash between 8th placed Bank of Egypt and their 11th placed visitors, Ceramica Cleopatra, when the two teams face off at the National Bank of Egypt Stadium in Cairo.

National Bank of Egypt have made slow but steady progress as the hosts have moved up the Egyptian top flight table into 8th spot having put together a nine-game unbeaten run which includes wins against El Gouna, Misr el Makkasa and El Sharqia.

However, the hosts have also been involved in no fewer than six draws within this period as well, along with drawing each of their last four matches, so it may be prudent to have the draw onside for this upcoming encounter especially as the last meeting between these two sides at the National Bank of Egypt Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw back in April of last year.

The bigger picture shows Bank of Egypt have lost just twice in their last 13 games on home soil and includes six wins in the process.

Ceramica Cleopatra dropped down to 11th place on the Premier League ladder despite recording a comprehensive 4-1 victory at home over Misr El Makkasa last time out at their New Suez Stadium, so they may well fancy their chances of adding to their points tally on Monday evening too.

However, although Ceramica have won three out of their last five games overall which also includes previous wins against Pyramids and El Gouna, two of these three wins were achieved on home soil, while results away from home continue to be a cause for concern.

Ceramica Cleopatra have managed to collect just one win in their last 12 outings on the road which came in the form of a 1-0 win at the aforementioned Pyramids but the visitors have also been held to seven draws and have also incurred four defeats as well.

To make matters worse, Ceramica have failed to hit the back of the net in no fewer than eight of these 12 outings on their travels and this could be an important factor in deciding the outcome of this meeting at Bank of Egypt.

Given Ceramica’s recent poor results on the road, using the handicap on Bank of Egypt looks the safest play here.
