Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Board, Seth Panwum, has announced that the Baba Yara Stadium is now fit to host football matches.
After being sidelined by CAF due to its subpar playing surface, the stadium has undergone necessary maintenance.
Confirming the news to Citi Sports Panwum opined that the pitch has been upgraded to meet the required standard
“Baba Yara is equally undergoing, let me say, re-turfing, you know, and it has come of age. The grass is up to standard now,” he said.
“With constant working after the game, we would go to Baba Yara as well to have a review of the work so far, then, yes, you know, so that we can attest whether it is ready, then we can allow Kumasi Asante Kotoko to return to the pitch,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Accra Sports Stadium will host Ghana’s clash against Niger in the final match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
