Asante Kotoko’s title hopes suffered a setback as they were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Young Apostles in their outstanding match-week 20 Premier League clash on Wednesday.
The draw was a result of Kotoko’s cautious approach, following their 1-1 stalemate with Samartex at the weekend.
Despite needing a win to remain top of the league, the Kumasi based outfit created few chances and struggled to find fluency in a fractious contest.
Young Apostles, on the other hand, created significant openings before halftime and came closest to snatching all three points.
Kotoko’s Prosper Ogum introduced striker Samson Eduku off the bench, but it was the hosts who pushed hardest for a winner.
The draw leaves Kotoko second in the league, one point behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
Young Apostles, meanwhile, remain tenth, 28 points off the pace.
