Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has assured the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Mahama, that they will turn things around in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday.
During a surprise visit to the team’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, Mahama encouraged the players ahead of the crucial encounter.
Following a disappointing 2025 AFCON qualification campaign, Ayew acknowledged the challenges but remained confident in the team’s ability to deliver and secure World Cup qualification.
“It’s a big sign that you’re here supporting us. We know we’re in a tough situation, but we’re not afraid. We will turn things around on Friday, so you can relax. We’ll do the job for the nation,” Ayew assured.
Ghana are third in Group I with nine points after four games and will be hoping to move to the top after Chad and Madagascar clash during the current FIFA International Break.
