Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, owner and life patron of Asante Kotoko, is expected to announce a new Board of Directors before the start of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season according to reports.
This follows the dissolution of the previous management and board led by Nana Yaw Amponsah and Dr. Kwame Kyei, respectively, after the 2022/23 season.
An Interim Management Committee (IMC) was established to run the club, comprising Kwesi Appiah, Prosper Ogum Narteh, Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, and Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah.
Under their leadership, Asante Kotoko finished the 2023/24 season in 6th place with 49 points.
The incoming board will have no more than six members, with the Executive Board Chairman serving as the head of the Management Team, which is yet to be named.
The Club Licensing Committee requires a new Board of Directors, as an interim committee cannot run the club for more than a season.
Asante Kotoko will begin their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign on September 6 with an away match against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.
