Former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, is in stable condition and gradually recovering after being poisoned.
According to media reports, the incident occurred when Amponsah attended a friend’s party in Tarkwa over the weekend.
He was scheduled to travel abroad on Wednesday for business purposes but has been forced to postpone the trip due to his current condition.
The exact hospital where he is receiving treatment has not been disclosed, and no suspects have been identified, according to sources close to Amponsah’s camp.
Amponsah served as CEO of Asante Kotoko from August 2020 to August 2023, during which the club won their record 24th league title in the 2021/22 season.
He later joined Moldovan top-flight side FC Petrocub Hincesti in January 2024 but left the position after six months in July 2024.
