Asante Kotoko have bolstered their attack with the signing of experienced forward Johnson Oppong Owusu, who returns to Ghana after a stint in Tajikistan.
The 27-year-old’s versatility and wealth of experience are expected to strengthen the team’s chances in local and African competitions during the 2025-26 season.
Owusu, a former standout for Dreams FC and Inter Allies, gained prominence after helping Dreams reach the semi-finals of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup.
According to reports, Owusu has signed a three-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors after passing medical tests at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Although the club hasn’t made an official announcement, head coach Karim Zito is said to be impressed by Owusu’s technical skills and international pedigree.
Owusu’s career includes stints in Europe with clubs like FC Trinity Zlín, FK Kukesi, and Portuguese sides Maritimo and SC Braga U19.
Owusu’s addition is expected to bring depth and firepower to Kotoko’s attack as they prepare for CAF inter-club competitions and aim to reclaim the Ghana Premier League title.
