Asante Kotoko are closing in on the signing of experienced Berekum Chelsea captain Zakaria Fuseini ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
The 27-year-old centre-back has agreed personal terms with the Porcupine Warriors, with the deal expected to be sealed before the end of the week, according to Opemsuo Radio.
Fuseini, who debuted in the top flight over a decade ago, has become one of the league’s most consistent defenders, making 30 appearances this season and registering three goals and an assist.
His move is reportedly backed by incoming Kotoko head coach Karim Zito, who is eager to build a solid foundation for the club’s revival.
The transfer marks a major step in Kotoko’s off-season rebuild as they aim to return to title contention.
If completed, Fuseini’s leadership and experience could be crucial in anchoring the club’s backline next season.
