Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has disclosed that he declined an offer to take up a coaching role within the national team setup.
Gyan, who holds a UEFA License B coaching certificate, shared this information during an interview on Asempa FM.
He mentioned that he was approached to coach one of the men’s football national teams but opted to turn down the offer due to timing constraints.
However, he left the door open for potential coaching opportunities with the national teams in the future.
“The timing was wrong but let us see what happens in the future,”
“Everybody has a way of doing their things,” he added.
Gyan retired in June 2023 as Ghana’s all-time leading goal scorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances.
The former Black Stars captain has played in three World Cup tournaments in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
