On Saturday evening, Roma hosts in-form Empoli at the Stadio Olimpico as the Giallorossi look to move into Serie A’s Champions League spots.

Jose Mourinho’s team is currently in the last European qualification spot in Serie A, but they are also just a point outside the Champions League spots. Last time out, a 2-1 defeat at league leaders Napoli ended a six-game unbeaten run for the Giallorossi in Serie A.

The game was a rare high-scoring one for the team from the Italian capital, as six of their last eight league matches have produced under 2.5 goals.

Roma’s recent home form has been decent, as they are unbeaten in three league matches at the Stadio Olimpico, having recorded back-to-back league victories on home soil. Their recent home matches in Serie A have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their previous five games.

The visitors head to Rome on the back of a six-game unbeaten run in Serie A, having recorded three wins and picked up three draws. Their recent matches in the Italian top flight have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine games.

Empoli are in ninth place in Serie A, 11 points off the home side and the European spots, while being 13 points clear of the relegation zone.

Paolo Zanetti’s team have a poor recent away record, as they have won just one of their last six league games on their travels. A shock 1-0 win at Inter in their previous away game in the league ended a five-match winless run on the road.

What does Forebet predict?

Forebet predicts that this game will be a close encounter and will finish in a low-scoring draw, which will hamper Roma’s top-four challenge.
