Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has set his sights on hitting the 15-goal mark in the English Premier League this season after a remarkable start to the campaign with AFC Bournemouth.
The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form, registering six goals and three assists in ten league matches.
The tally is bettered only by Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who leads the charts with 13 goals.
Semenyo’s current form has been instrumental in Bournemouth’s impressive rise to fourth place with 18 points, continuing his steady progression in England’s top flight.
He netted 11 goals last season and eight the year before, making this campaign his most explosive yet.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Semenyo revealed that personal goal-setting plays a big role in his success and hunger for improvement.
“Every year, I write my goals — what I want to do,” he said.
“I always want to do better than what I’ve done in previous seasons. I set a challenge for myself this year, and I really want to push myself.
“I think I am a good finisher. I can help the team in many ways, and credit to the manager [Andoni Iraola] and all the players — they’ve been so helpful.
“Fifteen goals would be great.”
Semenyo has been nominated for the Premier League Goal of the Month for October after his sensational solo strike against Fulham.
He faces stiff competition for the award from stars such as Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Moisés Caicedo (Chelsea), Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth), and Emiliano Buendía (Aston Villa).
