Ghana international Antoine Semenyo says he has yet to reach his full potential despite completing a high-profile move to Manchester City.
The 25-year-old Black Stars forward joined the Premier League champions from AFC Bournemouth, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal at the Etihad Stadium, reportedly for £65 million. Semenyo is expected to add depth and versatility across City’s attacking positions.
Speaking to the club’s website, Semenyo expressed confidence about his future at City and his ability to make an immediate impact.
“My best football is yet to come, I am sure of that. And City are in a great position – still involved in four competitions. I really feel I can help them have a strong second half of the season,” he said.
“The Etihad is my new home. I can’t wait to play in front of the fans here and I hope to show everyone what I can do,” added the Ghanaian forward.
Born in London to Ghanaian parents, Semenyo began his career at Bristol City before loan spells at Bath City, Newport County, and Sunderland helped him develop his game.
He caught the eye at Bournemouth, who signed him midway through the 2022/23 season. Since then, Semenyo has flourished, becoming one of the Cherries’ most consistent performers, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in the Premier League this season alone.
Across all competitions during his Bournemouth tenure, Semenyo made 110 appearances, scoring 32 goals and registering 13 assists; a record that helped secure his move to one of Europe’s top clubs.
