Angry ex-Hearts technical chief Can Vanli predicts Ghanaian giants will suffer relegation next season

Turkish trainer Can Vanli is furious with the decision of the club to overlook him for the role, predicting the current management team will lead the team into an abyss next season.

Vanli is seething with rage over the shocking decision to appoint unknown Japanese coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi to replace Edward Ansah in a permanent capacity.

The European coach had been given assurances he will be handed the job after helping the side escape relegation last season.

But in a rather shocking twist of event, the 2000 African champions opted for a coach with no proven track record – with former top officials of the club mocking the decision.

Even before the dust settle, former board chairman Harry Zakkour branded the Japanese a ‘Toyota engineer’ while castigating the poor running of the club.

The Turkish coach feels bitter after being snubbed and has predicted relegation will befall the Ghanaian powerhouse next season.

“I am very disappointed because we helped Hearts to avoid relegation. I had the opportunity to work with them and the expectation was to get the job for next season but that did not happen,” he said

“When I came to Hearts of Oak, the management tried everything to stop me.
