Former Black Stars skipper André Ayew has set his sights on making a strong statement in the Dutch Eredivisie with NAC Breda.
The Ghanaian attacker signed a short-term deal that runs until the end of the season, with an option to extend for an additional year.
At 36, Ayew brings vast European experience from spells with clubs such as Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United.
He believes that pedigree places him in a good position to contribute meaningfully at his new club.
“That is why I am here,” Ayew told the club’s media.
“Every season is a new start, and your past does not count; that is football.
“I know that there are a lot of expectations, but for me, that is what I have been through my whole career, so I am very calm about it.
“Very soon, I will be at my top.”
Ayew has already made two appearances off the bench as NAC Breda fight to avoid relegation.
The club currently sits 17th on the table with 14 points after 19 league matches.
