Ghana’s national team coach, Otto Addo, has outlined the requirements for captain Andre Ayew to be considered for a recall to the Black Stars.
Ayew, who is currently without a club after his contract with Le Havre expired, needs to secure a new team and score 20 goals to be considered for selection.
Addo emphasized that Ayew’s performance and club attachment are crucial factors in his decision-making process.
“Andre Ayew is a good player, but at the moment, he is not here. He doesn’t have a club, but nobody knows the future”
“If he gets a club and performs and scores 20 goals, maybe he can return because we are building something for the future.”
It is the second time Andre has been omitted from Ghana’s squad having been exempted for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
Ghana face Angola on September 5 before coming up against Niger four days later.
