Anderlecht winger Francis Amuzu is expected to miss his club’s next two games due to a pubalgia issue.
Head coach Brian Riemer is confident the medical team can help the Ghanaian born attacker make a full recovery and is aiming for his return in 3.5 weeks.
Riemer acknowledges Amuzu’s unique qualities, highlighting his speed, explosiveness, and ball strength.
While admitting it’s challenging to replace him directly, Riemer plans to adopt new strategies based on the team’s needs and the opponent in each game.
“Francis is a unique player. You rarely find a player with his speed and explosiveness, who is also strong on the ball at the same time. If he is fully fit, he will show what he can do this season. In the past, he was sometimes criticized because he did not meet so often or provide templates. But his statistics are good this season.”
“We can’t replace a player like Francis one-to-one. But players like Angulo and Raman are also fast. With Degreef, we also have a very clever player who is good on the ball and flips who is waiting for his breakthrough. For me, it is a question of analyzing the team, the opponent and what we need in the particular game.
