Ghana international Daniel Amartey had a return to league football to forget as Leicester City fell to a 3-0 thrashing at home by Newcastle United on Monday.
The defender got the Premier League match-day 16 fixture at King Power Stadium off to a terrible start for the hosts, gifting Newcastle a penalty when he chopped down Joelinton after 86 seconds, and striker Chris Wood blasted the spot-kick into the middle of the net.
The Foxes went 2-0 behind with Miguel Almiron scoring for the visitors in the 7th minute.
Brazilian striker Joelinton made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute.
Daniel Amartey lasted the whole game in his 13th outing in the 2022/23 season.
Leicester City – after their 9th loss – are currently 13th with 17 points.
