Former Ghana international Lee Addy has broken his silence on his failed transfer to Accra Hearts of Oak, citing ‘unprofessional behavior’ from former board member Alhaji Akambi.
Addy had agreed to join the Phobians in 2020 but the deal fell through in dramatic fashion.
In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com Addy revealed that Akambi told him he wouldn’t be able to play for the club even if he signed, due to issues with his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Addy expressed his disappointment and frustration with the situation, stating that he was unhappy with Akambi’s words and decided not to join the club.
“I prefered to play because this is what I can give back to the community so that the young ones will learn from us but personally I wasn’t happy with the words that came from Akambi and I decided not join them again,” Addy told said.
“I had trained with them for two to three months and Nyaho Tamakloe encouraged me to push the boys but Akambi later told me I will not be able to play because my ITC wasn’t in Ghana which I didn’t understand.
Addy played for Berekum Chelsea, Red Star Belgrade, and the Ghana national team.
