Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku has made a timely return to the Black Stars squad ahead of their pivotal doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The Fenerbahçe man missed Ghana’s Group F opening two games due to injury.

Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat to Angola in Kumasi, followed by a 1-1 draw with Niger away from home.

After regaining full fitness, head coach Otto Addo has called up the experienced defender for the crucial clashes against Sudan.

Djiku’s defensive prowess will be key as Ghana looks to secure maximum points from the two games.

Ghana will face Sudan on October 10, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Libya for the reverse fixture on October 15, 2024.

The Black Stars sit on one point, while Sudan has three points after two games respectively.
